How I discovered My Little Pony Friendship is Magic: I stumbled across this series after watching a youtube video where the character Pinkie Pie loses it, located here.

Plot: My little pony is a remake of the original children’s My Little Pony cartoon. It follows the life lesson’s of Twilight Sparkle and her friends, Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity. This series target audience is kids, and as such, maintains a “Y” rating.

Review: For a children show that’s designed to sell toys, it’s of unusually high quality. There’s several things that separates MLP:FIM from other shows designed to sell toys. First off, the characters have real depth and personality and change and evolve over time.  A lot of the episodes revolve around personality conflicts and overcoming and accepting each other’s quarks. The show is set land called Equestria. I really like how the history, information, exploration, and revelations about Equsetria are slowly revealed over time in small amounts across the episodes. Another thing that impressed me is that the show doesn’t always try to wrap up a new story element neatly by the end of every episodes, unlike a lot of other children’s show.

My Grade: 5 out of 5 / “Top Favorite”
