Plot: Alice Mavin, born from a noble family, enlists in the military and graduates just as an announcement of a cease fire. She is then put in charge of the “Pumpkin Scissors” squad which is never given any serious missions, and more of a Public Relations for the military. After the cease fire the economy enters a deep recession, and the wealth gap between the nobility and the common people is deep.
Review: The series is mainly focused on Alice Mavin and Randel Oland. I really enjoyed the Alice’s personality of unwavering following an pure code of honor and the tensions and situations it causes with reality, and her squad dealing with her actions.
I do miss the common 24 episode format that anime series use to get. This allowed them to properly develop the various squad members and introduce outside characters with some real depth I don’t see this being possible with this series in a 13 episode format. The series main plot is mostly concluded at the end of the first season. A second season was planned but never made.
My Grade: 4 out of 5 = “Loved it”
